Theme: Making Education Sustainable in the New Normal
All entries must be submitted and compiled by the adviser(s) on or before November 23, 2020
Nursery Rhyme (Preschool Department)
- Each nursery rhyme must not last longer than 5 minutes.
- Each entry will be uploaded to streamable.com and the link will be sent to their adviser.
- Costumes and props of each participant are highly encouraged.
- The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Rhythm- 40%
- Tone- 30%
- Presentation- 30%
Poem Recital (Primary Department)
- Each participant will be given a piece by their advisers.
- Each entry will be uploaded to streamable.com and the link will be sent to their adviser.
- Participants may use costumes and props for their entries.
- The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Rhythm- 40%
- Tone- 30%
- Presentation- 30%
Book Character Parade (Preschool to Primary Department)
- All students from Pre-school to Primary level must participate in this culminating activity.
- Each entry shall be a representation of a famous fictional character from any popular book.
- There will be no restrictions as to the kind of materials the competitors will be using for the costume of the character.
- The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
- The winners will be chosen by the following criteria:
- Costume- 40%
- Resourcefulness- 40%
- Relevance- 20%
Poem Writing (Intermediate to Junior High Department)
- All students from Grade 4 to Grade 6 must participate in this culminating activity.
- Each entry shall be hand-written in a long bond paper.
- Must have own title and the content must be relevant to our theme.
- Minimum of 3 stanzas and maximum of 6 stanzas with 4 lines each.
- There will be no restrictions to the designs, as long as you showcase your creativity.
- The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
- The winners will be chosen by the following criteria:
- Content- 50%
- Creativity- 30%
- Relevance- 20%
Essay Writing (Senior High Department)
- The contest is open to all Senior High School students of SVDPA.
- The participants must follow the following format:
- MS Word
- Arial 12, Justify
- Minimum of 500 words
- Own Title
- The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Content (relevance to the theme, appropriateness of the language, comprehensiveness, clarity of thought) – 50%
- Organization (unity, coherence) – 30%
- Mechanics (punctuation, spelling, capitalization, grammar) – 20%
Song Translation (Intermediate to Junior High Department)
- Each section can do it by solo or duo.
- The songs to be translated will be given to the advisers by the coordinator in charge of the activity.
- The pre-recorded 3-5 minutes video must be uploaded to streamable.com and the participants will send the link to their adviser.
- Contestants must provide copy of the translated song to the panel of judges before the contest proper.
- Each entry must use an accompaniment/instrument/minus one.
- The contestant/s are allowed to remix at least 2 songs from the following choices;
- The criteria for judging are as follows:
- Lyrics’ Relevance – 20%
- Creativity – 20%
- Tone – 20%
- Rhythm (Use of instrument) – 20%
- Synchronization – 20%
Declamation Contest (Senior High Department)
- Each contestant will be given the freedom to choose his/her own declamation piece and is expected to memorize it.
- The video must be uploaded to streamable.com and send the link to their adviser.
- The contestant is not allowed to use any editing apps. The video must NOT be edited.
- The winner will be chosen by the following criteria:
- Overall interpretation- 40%
- Pronunciation, Intonation and Fluency- 30%
- Mastery of the Piece- 15%
- Stage Presence- 15%
Mr. and Ms. Literature (Intermediate to Senior High Department)
- Each section will choose the characters that they will portray.
- Each pair must prepare their self and character introduction, the story where it belongs and a famous line from the character that they are portraying.
- The video must be uploaded to streamable.com and send the link to their adviser. The medium to be used must be ENGLISH.
- The participants should emphasize the use of face mask and face shield as part of their costumes.
- The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Overall Interpretation- 25%
- Creativity- 45%
- Stage Presence & Projection- 30%
Authors’ Gallery TikTok Challenge (Intermediate to Senior High Department)
- This culminating activity is open for participants from Grade 4 to Grade 12.
- Each participant will portray ONE PROMINENT LITERARY AUTHOR.
- Participants will use the TIKTOK APP and they will use #museo de filipino as reference
- Participants must indicate a brief background and their contribution of their chosen PROMINENT AUTHOR in the LITERARY WORLD.
- The video must be uploaded to streamable.com and the participants will send the link to their adviser.
- The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
- The winners will be chosen by the following criteria:
- Creativity – 50%
- Projection – 25%
- Appropriateness – 25%
Spelling Bee (Intermediate to Senior High School Department)
- The English Teachers from Grade 4-10 will do the elimination round on their regular class.
- The student who got the highest score on each grade level will represent his/her section on the scheduled final round.
- The schedule for the final round are as follow:
- November 23, 2020, 2:00pm – Intermediate
- November 24, 2020, 1:00pm – Junior High School
- November 26, 2020, 1:00pm – Senior High School
